Democratic Lt. Governor Primary Map

Dan Malloy must wish his map looked like this. Mary Glassman picked up votes beyond those cast for Dan Malloy absolutely everywhere except for West Hartford. Her dominance of Litchfield and Fairfield Counties was total. Many, many towns that went for DeStefano also went for her. North Branford, FYI, is blank because the vote there was tied.

This is a decisive win by Glassman. It's puzzling why it didn't help Malloy more.

pimply faced 32 year old DLC members get no respect...Scott would have been a horrible candidate for the November elections..

If Nancy DiNardo was smart, she would be printing this map right now and keeping Mary actice in everything and anything for 4 years from now...and make sure future chairpersons do as well....

I hope she isn't that smart.

Disgruntled...Ms DiNardo will be leaving her position if there is no change in the congressonal makeup and wont be in position to help Glassman.

Mary Glassman has a bright future in Connecticut Politics She is smart, energetic and she won the primary Because she worked very hard from The Convention to the Primary.

I would say she has to be in the 2010 mix somewhere If she isnt Lt Governor already.

Hey Bruce.....Why dont you run for Democratic State Party Chairman!!!!
Seriously you seem to have the knowledge of your many years of being involved. You should give it some real serious thought.

Mary was a reasonably incompetent First Selectman here in Simsbury. It was obvious all along she was only interested in higher office. Without her professional women's fan club she was pretty clueless on a local political level.

ANON 3:00...i was already the State Party Finance Chair for several years in the 90's...frankly it would be a lateral position, with abit of " been there done that" to it...I also like being a lawyer and i will be active in the national political end by working for a candidate in some capacity. And, If JDS loses( i hope not,but im not very encouraged by how his operatives and staff have perforned thus far) i will instigate a better candidate for next time around.

Bruce... Very good answer We do need someone at DSCC of your caliber and experience. Who is out there that you would consider a good solid State Chair Possibility
since you are not interested or do you think this will shake out after November.

Anon 3:25...i am in a wait till November mode on the party chair thing..if Lamont wins he and his folks will ( and should) have alot to say who that will be...If he loses ( i hope he wins though)..its up for grabs and i will be pushing for someone with credibility from the activist side of my party, who can organize from the grassroots and yet understands how to raise money.

I'm not sure if it's that odd. For more Democrats either DeStefano or Malloy would be an acceptable candidate. Sometimes it was hard to tell the difference between the two. Obviously people saw larger differences between Scott and Mary.

My focus will be on Chris Jones (D)
for Senate for Statford and Shelton.
Forget this race for Governor.

Hey fello political geeks: NO ONE KNOWS THAT SLIFKA IS A DLC MEMBER AND NO ONE CARES!

No one knows what the DLC is and no one cares!

Repeat this until you learn it. The only people who have any idea what the DLC is is all of us - the time we spend talking about how bad the DLC is or isn't is essentially mental masturbation!

Don't believe me: go ask ten random people in any bar in the state - no one has any idea - some may remember it from Clinton 1992 - but they don't know what it is, does, stands for or anything else!

Mary won because she is 1.) better known to the extent either one of them was known, 2.) she's a woman and that matters a whole lot in CT politics!!!!!, and 3.) she worked her butt off throughout the primary season!
