Just in Case You Missed It

Here's that point again:
Sen. Joe Lieberman and rival Democrat Ned Lamont started their final drives toward Election Day by sharing the spotlight Sunday at a Veterans Day parade.

Lieberman and Lamont shook hands with each other before taking their places on the route that wound through downtown Hartford. Lieberman marched near the front of the parade, accompanied by Republican U.S. Rep. Nancy Johnson. Lamont trailed by about a half-block and marched with U.S. Rep. John Larson, Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, all Democrats. (AP)

Johnson is probably hoping that some of Lieberman's independent voters will break her way.

Update: 4:39pm

The Lamont campaign blog is reporting that Lieberman's people tried to have Lamont removed from the parade.
...at the beginning of today’s Veterans Day parade in downtown Hartford, Joe smiled and shook Ned’s hand, and then quickly sent his folks out to try physically bar Ned from marching with Congressman John Larson and other Democrats who invited him to march. [...]

Ned decided not to listen, and jogged around the Lieberman folks while we distracted them, and caught back up to the Democrats. When the Lieberman people again tried to physically remove Ned from the parade, Larson backed them off once and for all telling them simply: “Ned’s with us.”

Ah, character. Anybody have any more information?

A really good question. Seems like a waste of her time.

I pray that Joe goes the same way as Nancy Johnson! She's so over.

Some of the national blogs (and so called pundits) have predicted a Lieberman win -- while others compared CT with Florida 2000.

For all the TV coverage CT had at primary time, the present silence on national TV regarding Lieberman is deafening.

Will CT return to its blue roots?

The silense is cuz there are other races that will actually have an impact. If it was a Schlesinger possible upset of Lieberman, then they'd be all over it.

There's a lot of MSM in Hartford though...

I live in the 5th district and I got a mailer for Johnson that has a big color picture of DOWNTOWN HARTFORD on the front!!!!!! I guess she thinks it is in her district! It was paid for by some lobbyist group but it was all for JOhnson and said "Vote for Nancy Johnson" but the picture was the Hartford riverfront. What the hell is wrong with those people?

Nancy has probably spent more time in the city of Hartford than Chris Murphy has spent in the town of Cheshire. Didn;t stop him from deluged me with mail as "Cheshire's candidate" as if his family went back to colonial times.

Murphy is a phony. In 7 years I have never seen his face in Cheshire, except for the weekend after he announced and then he suddenly showed up at our Church. Like I said, I have never,m ever seen the man there before and never since..Hes a phony...he couldnt care less abotu his constituents. At least Johnson has had the deceny to respond personally to every email I have sent her over the last 7 years and has had folks from her office call me as well. Chris Murphy....not a peep.
