Senate District 8 - a very close call.

The word from the Berry camp is that the SOTS office has posted that he lost by 367.

"However, that's less than one percent of the vote," challenger Steve Berry said via phone about 3:15 this afternoon. "We've fought too long and hard to give up on something this close. So, we have some people out looking at things at the Town Clerk's office, and we'll expect to have a little clearer picture of where we stand in a couple of hours. I owe that to the people who have been so loyal and helpful throughout the last eight months."

Stay tuned...

It's over the mandatory recount. Sorry Steve, do everyone a favor and don't hold on to this. You will soon begin to look like a sore loser. Plus, if you have any intention of running again, you might want to gracefully concede, you will gain even more respect.

I think what happened here is that he thought he had this thing won and now that the numbers indicate something different...it stings.

Half a percent or less is required for a recount. Mr. Berry is outside that margin.

Steve,

Show some class, for a change, and concede defeat.
