Lieberman's campaign is helping the GOP!? No way!?

Republicans' last ditch plan isn't quite what you'd expect...

Robert Scheer compares rhetoric on Iraq and Vietnam, from both sides of the aisle.

The Daily Show does a silly Senate campaign rundown.

What else is going on?

I would like to mention that Ben Affleck will be appearing at a Chris Murphy rally this Friday at CCSU. A press release from the campaign says that "With four days until the election, Affleck will encourage young people to vote and stress the importance of this election for the future of the country."

That is all.

well maybe this will be as effective as his acting in "Gigli"

From the Courant article about Lieberman:

"I just don't think Lieberman helps Republican turnout all that much," Schwartz said. "Voters look at these races separately. I don't see Lieberman firing up the Republican base."

I couldn't agree more.

FWIW, I'm an R and I got a brochure today blasting Ned for accepting support from that Kos guy after what he said about guys who died in Iraq

Yeah, Kos said that his heart was completely with our troops, but that the Mercenaries/Contractors who got killed weren't worth too many tears.

Might have something to do with the role of mercenaries in Central America, from which Markos Moulitsas hails.

A bunch of rogue gun-men, operating outside the law, .... well, I can understand if there is no love lost there.

Nancy Johnson's Recurring Lie
Since the 2002 election, when Nancy Johnson and Jim Maloney duked it out for the new 5th Congressional District, Nancy Johnson has been spinning the same lie.
She repeatedly claims that she wrote the law that resulted in the HUSKY Health Plan for children in Connecticut.

Here's the truth:
The bill that became the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) law was H.R. 2015 which was introduced by Rep. John Kasich of Ohio.
That bill had 26 related bills. Of those 26 bills, Nancy Johnson introduced none, and co-sponsored only 3. Of the 3 bills she co-sponsored, none of them were related to CHIP.
H.R.521 made certain changes to hospice care under the Medicare program.
H.R.893 provided increased Medicare reimbursement for nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists to increase the delivery of health services in health professional shortage areas, and for other purposes.
H.R.894 provided increased Medicare reimbursement for physician assistants, to increase the delivery of health services in health professional shortage areas, and for other purposes.

Nancy Johnson has been telling this lie since 2002. It's time for the lying to stop.
On Tuesday, November 7, the voters in the 5th Congressional District can do just that.

How dare he use the words "screw them" to describe mercenaries, they're so cute and cuddly? Why can't that crazy extremist liberal Markos Moulitsas (a former Goldwater Republican with a picture of himself campaigning with George Bush Sr. in 1992) use the more respectable Christian language of modern Republican party leaders like Cheney, and say "fuck them" instead? The morality is this country is just going down the tubes.

Shays Criticizes Lieberman on Iraq

Chris Shays just gave a radio interview on NPR where he attacks Joe Lieberman from the LEFT on Iraq (www.nedlamont.com/blog).

What a bizarre election...

Rell didn't even know as late as two weeks ago that electric rates will be going up by 50% after the first of the year. You'd think Senator Kissel whose day job is at NU would have let her in on it.
