Lamont Campaign Snafu Again

Wasn't it just a few short weeks ago that the Lamont campaign suffered the embarrassment of failing to file FEC paperwork correctly? Why, yes, and they do it again. Here's the link to the FEC letter. OF course it was the Lieberman staff that sent out a press release on the subject, so it goes without saying that their position is that FEC SLAMS LAMONT FOR HIDING NAMES OF PAID STAFF. They also remind us that Lamont has failed to provide the past 5 years in income tax returns. Could it be that some not so Liberal expense show up in itemized schedules? Who knows. Perhaps time to lay off the Guinness, Lamont staff.

Turfgrrl...please list the names and salaries of the hidden paid staffers..

Asking for an explanation of a $55,000 disbursement discrepency is not a small deal. While that doesn't imply anything on its own, that is a hell of a lot of money to not be accounting for.

It's less of a big deal for them not to show who got the money, but, again, that is not a good thing for Lamont. Lieberman probably went a tad overboard, but there are some questions in this FEC request.

The Liars Club led by Left Said Ned Lamont and his Campaign Guru Tom Swan Yet again hiding stuff from the Public and now The Federal Election Commission.

First Ned is hiding tax return stuff and trys to imply he couldnt release it due to confidentiality clauses that his wife's partners have.

Now they are hiding who is working on the Paid Staff.

Uncle Ned is human after all But Senator Lieberman looks so much better than this moron. Lamont and his staff cant even file paperwork right what other crooked crap will these clowns pull.

I hope this is the beginning of the end of Nedmania.

Turfgrrl, I was drinking Smithwick's not Guinness when I was escorting Ned around the Irish Festival in Glastonbury. People really were engaged when they talked him Ned and many said they were going to vote for Ned and wanted photos with him. Not a particularly
liberal crowd.

Hey Bruce,

Why don't you get some glasses. Turfgrrl never said that the FEC "slammed Lamont's Treasurer."

NICE TRY BRUCE.

This post is below the quality standards one expects at CTLP. Content, tone and formatting are childish. There's no link to the Lieberman press release, only a BOLD, CAPITALIZED title. Ghengis is moderating comments again, but I wish he would moderate posts like this one. Turfgrrl's posts seem only to be "gotcha" content against the Lamont campaign. Ghengis, we don't come to this site for Limbaugh-style hyperbole. I sincerely hope you dump TG as she is actually degrading the quality of your site that we all love.

We are seeing the beginning of the end of NedMania and soon the demise of dumpjoe.com and its idiot creator.

Tom Swan and his Campaign Staff are a bunch of buffoons and soon people will finally see through what the Lamont Campaign has been doing for months alienating the Democratic Party with one issue and causing rift and friction.

Soon no more Ned Lamont, Tom Swan and his lack of neckwear and Keith Crane and his stupid insulting Lieberman/Bush Kiss button...Hey Crane try something original that kiss button has lost its effectiveness people are starting to see The Real Ned Lamont and are growing tired of the negative attacks on Lieberman and soon Dorks for America is over too.

Turfgrrl.... What do you expect from a lawyer who advertisements run during breaks from The Jerry Springer Show.

Just thought I'd ask a question. Why is it that the Lieberman backers on here can't seem to write comments without juvenile language, pathetic personal attacks (oh look, his tie is crooked!!!) and total lack of substance? Try telling us what's good about your candidates stand on the issues, perhaps starting with Iraq?

Aug 21st?

Whaaaaaa.............

Gee, I thought Genghis was moderating comments so that we wouldn't have personal attacks, like the one we see at Anon(4:45).

From a journalistic viewpoint, turfgrrl's post repeating an attack from a Lieberman press release without any critical thought is one of the things that seriously degrades this site.

ANON 449- Tom Swan doesnt wear a necktie Because he dont own one apparently.

You Lamont people are so into double standards it also right for you to attack Lieberman But it isnt ok for us to criticize Lamont and the minute someone does you go crazy.

Lets Cut the Double Standard when one standard will do just fine.

I wonder if Bruce will have any billable hours after the primary... can't be too busy now with so frequent postings....

I would think, the way he talks, he would be a very busy man.

Bruce, you and I may disagree on different issues, but I do have to compliment you on being man enough to post your name and stand up for what you believe. My comments are not aimed so much at the anonymous posters that are hurling personal attacks and bringing down the level of debate. They are more aimed at expressing disappointment that despite moderation and Genghis' assertions otherwise, he is still allowing this valuable resource to get dragged through the mud this way.

ANON 714-Why do you people stand up for this guy he is constantly insulting other bloggers when they have a different viewpoint.

Some of the people like rubenstein and crane need someone to oppose them and their insults

I think Genghis trys to be fair and let everyone have a viewpoint rather than letting one side(Lamont and DFA Groupies) over people whose opinion supports Lieberman have complete domination.

ANON 714- Once again this is America and not Russia and The Lamont people want full control and not allow us Lieberman supporters to have any point of view.

So lets cut the whining liberal supporter BS and allow everyone to have a right to their opinion.

Terry Backer endorsed Joe Lieberman today. Mike Lawlor tomorrow.

Talk about snafu....

Bysiewicz is ridiculous. Just watched her press conference on CTN.

She is talking about voters switching to participate in the primary... Deadline for Republicans to become Dems was in May. Unaffiliated to Dem (or other party) has nearly until the primary.

A reporter asked -- so what if a Republican becomes an Unaffiliated, could they then become a Dem in the remaining time? Her response -- "Oh, my, that is something, you come up with everything. Write that down (to aid), we'll have to check that. I'll have to get back to you..."

Hmmm, don't you think that question has come up? Wouldn't you think she'd know the answer, rather than giving that (basic) question to an aide??

Goodness gracious....

This doesn't really fit here.. but everyone here that Grace Nome passed away?

I venerable Hartford lobbyist -- CT Food Assoc, Restaurant Assoc, Drug Stores, etc.

Crusty soul -- been around for awhile. Good lady who will be missed in the hallways next year!

I would really love to know who the anonymous is that keeps referring to the DFA as the vast overarching force behind progressive politics seeking to taint his precious bodily fluids. While it still is a force, that assessment is far from the case. Even if Ned loses it will remain a force, DFA is hardly built upon Ned.

Anonymous said...

DFA supports Lamont its on their website nothing there about Lieberman so I consider that support or an endorsement.

Any takers?

anon 7:34 My understanding had been that Genghis would not allow personal attacks on people that post here. He should not allow it by Bruce or Keith, or by anonymous people that dislike Bruce or Keith. The fact that he is allowing some personal attacks through makes his commitment to making this a respectable forum suspect.

Beyond that, the other anonymous posters do little to support their cause by stooping to the level of personal attacks that they dislike so much in Bruce and Keith.

Turfgrrl anything to put Ned Lamont down.
You must be paid well by the Lieberman team.

Anyway can't deal with the issues so you again divert attention to his taxes .

Lets talk about the War in Iraq,Universal Healthcare Social Security which Lieberman Lie for short supported the Republican plan to privatze .

Lieberman is a joke and this is his last time in office so Turfgurl kiss Lieberman goodbye August 8th.

He's a loser and a lier.

Remember everyone Lieberman without the berman is Lie.

So August 8th do vote for a Lie vote for a Lamont

Turfgrrl’s uncritical parroting of Marion’s talking points unwittingly illustrates the failures of Lieberman’s campaign.

They are desperately trying to find why Lamont is surging in the polls. Perhaps it is buried in a tax return or an FEC filing. Perhaps they can find a magic key to turn around this race. Perhaps if they play gothca with forms they can distract the voters from the fact that Lieberman has nothing to say.
