Fabrizi Gets Warm Reception at Bridgeport Parade

Lieberman Booed

The people of Bridgeport seem very willing to forgive John Fabrizi for using cocaine while in office.
Midway through the Barnum Festival's Great Street Parade Sunday, Mayor John M. Fabrizi broke free from a steady stream of outstretched handshakes.

"Hey, I'm going to get blamed for holding up the parade," Fabrizi apologized, pressing forward.

Applause, broken only by sporadic gaps in the 1-mile parade route, along with shouts of "Yea, John," made the mayor's day.
...
"He's not a bad guy. He didn't steal any money or anything," said Jason Marrizi, a street vendor from Ansonia, who stopped to wave as the mayor passed by.

"He made a mistake but the mayor is the mayor. I think he's doing a good job," said Juan Planas of Bridgeport. (Lambeck)

Cozying up to George W. Bush, though, that's unforgivable:
The only negative shouts seemed directed at Lieberman, who is facing a primary challenge from Ned Lamont of Greenwich.

"Hey, look at that, a Democrat walking with a Republican," came one shout to Lieberman.

"How's the president," shouted another parade watcher, giving Lieberman a thumbs-down sign. (Lambeck)

Wow. I guess that's why he doesn't release his schedule.

Amazing, isn't it? Maybe Lieberman should try cocaine. It might help.

Concerning Turfgrrl’s putative conflict of interest: If y’all are looking for corrupt bloggers who accept consultant money from the people they are writing about and then give them a free ride, you might tryhere. Please note the date of the Slate piece. These facts – as CtKeith and BRubenstein might put it – have been available for awhile. And nothing here reported prevented Connecticut bloggers from commingling with Daily Kos.

Don Pesci:

From that article:

Armstrong quit blogging for the half-year that Armstrong Zuniga, the two men's political consulting firm, was on the Dean payroll, and Moulitsas posted a somewhat grumpy disclosure on his site's front page during the same period.

Leaving aside the "grumpiness" of the disclosure, what is your point? One stopped blogging when he was getting paid and the other posted a disclosure...

My comment is not an attack on Turfgrrl, who seemed not not have a conflict of interest, but on faulty logic.

Just laying out the facts. For a more recent piece from the New Republic see here

Don,

In laying out the "fact" that "corrupt bloggers who accept consultant money from the people they are writing about and then give them a free ride", you neglected to lay out the fact that one of the bloggers didn't blog while was taking money and the other disclosed the financial arrangement. Was that not relevant?

Just got word that Lieberman is holding a press conference at the capitol today at 1pm. No word on what the press conference is about--which for the Lieberman people is odd. Anyone who's in the area might want to snoop about.

Don Pesci,

Now everyone knows why noone reads your blog or takes you seriously.

Daily Kos had a disclosure message on the front page of his blog explaining he was being paid by the Dean Campaign the entire time he was.

This story was debunked when it came out but since you live in Ann Coulters world that reality hasn't hit you yet.

What Fabrizi did was wrong and he should resign BUT the people of Bridgeport understand that Lieberman sent over 2500 kids to their death for nothing and deserves even more scorn than a poor sap who snorted some coke.

Lieberman recieved 13 defermants from serving during the Vietnam war.He even went as far as getting his wife pregnant to avoid service yet since his rise to the Senate has voted to send others to war at every possible chance.

The age to join the military was raised last week to 42.Anyone think Lieberman Asked his son Matt(age 39)to consider enlisting when he was in CT last week to campaign for Daddy?

Sorry--that press conference is happening on the steps of the state capitol in Hartford today at 1pm.

I wonder what's going on?

I bet Lieberman announces he's collecting Signatures.
Between his pollster telling him he's now losing among Likely and most likely voters and being booed at all his unannounced public appearances it's obvious Lieberman can't win on Aug. 8th.

If this happens it's Time to put up or shut up for Rosa,Larson and every other Elected oficial in this state who wants to call himself/herself a Democrat.

Lieberman to announce plans for possible independent campaign... All right, we'll know in about half an hour.
