Open Forum

Democratic convention starts tomorrow. I'll be there, covering the event. Whether I'll be able to live blog it, I have no idea. From what I've been able to find out, the CT Expo Center doesn't appear to have wireless. This is bad news for me and my aged laptop. If I can't blog live, I'll publish a report later Friday night.

Linda Roberts of East Windsor is running for treasurer. No mention of Frank Lecce in the article.

Democrats in the 2nd House District (Bethel, Redding, Danbury) are looking for a candidate. This race was decided by less than 50 votes last time around.

Rell should be announcing Michael Fedele's selection as her running mate sometime today.

What else is happening?

At the Linda Roberts Presser, Frank Lecce was present and announced he was withdrawing his candidacy for Treasurer.

Presser should be archived on CTN.

I disagree completely. Gentile is a humble woman from a respectable backround who knows what it takes to represent a district adequately.

JR doesn't even live in the district and for political reasons he lists his parent's home as his residence.

Romano definitely has a chance to knock off Gentile - losing by 300 votes in a district where he is outnumbered 5-1 in party reg? Romano is a force to be reckoned with - arrogant or not. Coming so close in a district with the odds stacked against him, he has the right to be proud. Voters clearly connected with him - isn't that what a State Representative is all about?

Romano has lived in Derby his entire life - his family spans multiple generations in town. He is connected to the community in a way few others are. If anyone can connect with the voters and knows the needs and desires of ALL of the people of Derby, it's JR Romano.
