Rell Sweeps Kristine Ragaglia to administrative duties

The Ap is reporting that Rell just learned of Regaglia's sealed grand jury testimony where Regalia admitted that she "took the same expensive hotel getaways, lavish dinners and limousine rides that were used to bribe the officials in Rowland's administration."

May 01,2006 | HARTFORD, Conn. -- Connecticut's governor stripped a top fraud investigator of her duties Monday after learning the official, a former assistant district attorney, had testified to receiving many of the same gifts that toppled former Gov. John G. Rowland's administration.

All deliberate steps should be taken to fire Ragaglia as sson as possible.

Once again Governor Snow White knows nothing....if you believe it.

Jodi Smell couldn't see this link and didn't see between Ragagalia but it was obvious. That thanks to John Rowland's dealings when the fire got hot on the CJTS Ragagalia got a union protected job now was no accident. Jodi Smell was never part of the corruption inner workings and she still has no idea what they really were or how they happened. If it was a "criminal eneterprise" out of the Governor's office as the feds have claimed it wasn't just one little kabal and the enterpise endorsed actors aren't gone. Jodi Smell is like the RC priest that hangs with the mafioso.

Morano's comments denying any knowledge by saying "this is the first this office has heard these facts" is good cover for him as well. This fellow crony of the Rowland gang has been making criminal referrals to Morano ever since she got the union job. And her initial refusal to provide her diary to the feds was documented in the news paper.

Bluecoat makes excellent points. How many other legislators and appointees are left that assisted the Rowland gang? Are they still drawing state taxpayer checks and why is the fourth estate silent on this? What media darlings are they looking to protect? I think they want us to belive they are cleaning up just don't open the closet door.

Art Diedrich is still appointed to some non-paying board job thanks to Lou DeLuca. The Andreskovich family is still around. DOT Commisioner Korta, who also has some family on the payroll in state govt., got his job just a few months before Rowland left. Korta had been Deputy DOT Commissioner of Bradley Airport where Tommasso built the parking garage - yes, they are very special things. The list is rather lenghty and that is why Governor Smell needs to go. She had her chance and she blew it.

And I forgot to mention that Rowland spin doctor Pagani si heading up one of the agencies that oversees the economic development in Hartford. He got out just before Johnny copped his plea too.\

And Patricia Rice to answer your question about the fourth estate: the financial return on investigative reporting for a news paper that relies on advertising, including political advertising, is very small and you can go from there.

The saga of Sgt. Vincent DeRosa and others from the corrupt and politically wired State Police organization isn't over.
Here's an old one from Suasan Haigh at AP on why Rell needed to clean house but she kept both Wiltse and Cooper who were mentioned in the article on - out of layalty really.

Earth Technology is mentioned in this old article. If I am not mistaken they have since gotten several contracts from DOT including the one to look at what to do with the rest stops on the Interstates in CT. And DeLuca has been pushing to allow Tommasso to continue to do business with the state.

Pesci blog makes apologies here for Ragagalia because she is a Republican, because she testified to the federal grand jury putting Rowland away and because people say she's since been a good fraud investigator. She is an attorney and she knew what she was doing was wrong when she was doing it and could have stopped. As for the Republican thing Rell is the one that stripped her of her fraud investigator duties.

And I don't think she was a "whistleblower' as Pesci spins - she was subpoenaed and she fougfht it every stp of the way.

Bluecoat,
Pagani left his quasi public position several months ago... Cooper was a career state employee and Democrat to boot... and Wiltse went to Iraq within days after Rell became Governor

Glad Pagani is gone, I guess he's the turd with a linked blog on the right then still using his sleaze to influence; Cooper's Democrat registration and career status has nothing to do with anything just like Judge Sullivan was a Democrat and lots of career employees with no talent became corrupt aligned cronies; on Wiltse I plead ignorance I thought he was till around; the bottom line regardless of how you spin it is that Team Rowland is firmly in control..

Rell's spin machine lately has cycled into ultra-high, with Justice Sullivan and now Ragaglia, though it seems will take more than assigining Ragaglia to administrative duties.

As Bluecoat has already noted Don Pesci efforts to distance Rell, you have wonder why she took no action on Blumenthal's September, 2005 claims until now.

In supporting Blumenthal's action Judge Schuman seems to have added Justice Sullivan's affection for him.

Ragaglia's hiring for the Social Service job is sure to draw more attention.

I guess Rell thought Raggalia was flying commercial, driving her own car and staying in Motel 6 while the the Tomasso's were wining and dining Alaboczek and ellef and the rest of them. Jodi can't smell.

There is an open question too of why Ragaglia worked for Bloomie for six months before going to DSS.

No too much difference between cooperating witnesses and whistleblowers. One thing is certain: If you prosecute either, both dissappear. That was the point of the column. Earlier columns of mine called for the impeachment and trial of Rowland, much before anyone else. I couldn't offer an apology for Ragallia if I wanted to.
