Fabrizi Admits Cocaine Use

Oh, dear.
Bridgeport Mayor John M. Fabrizi has admitted he has used cocaine since taking office, but told the Connecticut Post he is both ashamed and humiliated.
...
The mayor said he quit using the illegal drug well over a year ago.

"I'm ashamed. I'm humiliated for myself. I never meant to let the world know. I didn't want my family to know," Fabrizi told the newspaper. (AP)

So far, there's no word of Fabrizi resigning.

Fabrizi should resign since the cocaine taking was while he was in office...and he lied to the press in the discharge of his official duties..

this is another case of 'he is better than his predecessor' so he's popular, standards are set low and he gets a free ride for too long....he's done a lousy job mostly playing politics - with some of the people he was partying with including a lawyer, doctor... and he should go for sure on this one...

Who does he think he is, anyway? Marion Barry?

Mayor Fabrizi's reign as Mayor of Bridgeport should be at an end, with or without a DOJ investigation. He violated the trust of his constituents and they should reward him by replacing him. We cannot have our leaders demonstrating such poor judgment.

-sniff- Hey Mayor, -sniff- you know where I can, you know -sniff- score some good stuff? -sniff-

Chris Shays has been giving this guy too much of a free ride as well...mostly based on favorable comments by the 'suburban dominated' Business Council of Fairfield County and Greater Bridgeport Regional business Council.

Another big feather in the LIEBERMAN/MALLOY Hat turns out to be a crook, a gangster and an idiot.

Is anyone surprised?

Isn't the next step in this groundhog adventure for Jarjura to be indicted?

BRubenstein said...

Shays does "business" with Fabrizi and the Bridgeport administration...what do you expect?

bluecoat said...

BR: that's a low blow; Bridgeport is part of Shays district and Shays even lives in Bridgeport; that said, the two "suburban dominated" orgs I mentioned - that claim to be in Bridgeport's corner and have Shays' ear and mind - want Bridgepert to be the corner where everything is dumped...

BRubenstein said...

Bluecoat...I wasnt trying to connect with a low blow..but simply to point out that everytime a Bridgeport business needs a federal permit or federal agency help of some sort..the Mayor and Shay's woprk together..In addition, they are friendly and often work on joint projects in the area. I dont mean to imply that Shays either knew or took part in John's cocaine and liquor binges.

I stand corrected; I happen to like Chris Caruso because he is straighforward; and he plans to primary against Fabrizi next time around. I also wish the GOP would put somebody up decent other than Torres who would be a Democrat anyway if the town DTC wasn't so dominated by the wishes od its party bosses...

I will be working with you then..i like him also

Now Keith, that wasn't very nice! Why pick on Jarjura?

Now you're just trying to cover your ass! If you didn't mean to imply that Bruce, then why did you even bring up the point. Of course Shays does business with Fabrizi...he's the mayor of the biggest city in his district! If they didn't work together for the benefit of Bridgeport, then they would both be derelict of their duties. Honestly, you can be a real wanker sometimes.

Mr Vance...Jarjura is way way too conservative for most of us in the party...

A lesson to be learned by you is the rapid advance of Murphy

Paul,

Maybe it's the freinds he keeps.

Go check his filings and come back and tell me the name of the smell you find.

Anyone think Leno or Letterman is going to joke about this guy?

Once again, the crazy, far left wing of the Democratic party rears its extremely ugly head.

People donate to your campaign so it must mean you'll be indicted soon; A sucessful, incumbent member of your own party is far too conservative, so let's attack one of our own.

Just another day for the crazy lefties...

Bruce--

I was trying to point out that saying someone will be indicted because you don't like their politics is a little bit irresponsible.

As for Jarjura's politics, some like his brand of politics and some don't. He wins elections in Waterbury. If he is too conservative for you or 'most' in the party, then don't vote for him or support him.

Keith--

I could not pull up his finance reports to see who you were talking about. Sometimes getting information from our State websites (The Secretary of State Campaign Finance section) is like trying to solve the DaVinci Code. Still not fair to say that political donations mean an indictment is coming.

Also Bruce,

Murphy is running a very good campaign, is that the lesson I am to learn?
