24-7 Lamont Afternoon Open Forum
Just kidding...
Two pieces of Lamont news:
1. Lamont has a new ad comparing Lieberman to Bush
2. Move On went national in its fundraising appeal for Lamont (and Farrell and Patrick Murphy)
One piece of World Cup news - Australia loses to Italy in the 93rd minute on a penalty kick (the actual flop, I mean, foul, was of the questionable variety) after being up a man for more than 40 minutes. Is it me or are the refs deciding more games than in previous Cups?

Gabe..dont you mean Chris Murphy instead of Patrick Murphy?
No, I mean Patrick (PA-08).
ok..fair enough
Saw this on MLN earlier today. If Lewis wasn't a Lamont supporter before he will be now.
Chris Murphy=STILL second place.
I see where Nancy just picked up two union endorsements over the weekend. There was a small blurb in the Waterbury paper.
Patrick Murphy is running against Mike Fitzpatrick in PA.
Chris Murphy=don't underestimate him.
I think the 5CD race is the most interesting of all the Congressional races.
Gabe.. I bet you half of these refs will be out of International Competition come the end of this tournament. Did you see the refs yesterday for Portugal game? Sorry to see for such a high level game with a lot at stake.
Just a heads-up, some of us are TiVoing the Wrld Cup games so we can watch them when we get home from work.
Yesterday's refs were the worst I've ever seen for any sport. They totally lost control of the game. Totally disgraceful for the world's largest and most watched tournament...
ESPN just flashed a statistic on the screen that this WC has already set a record for yellow cards and red cards and we aren't done with the round of 16 yet. Great.
Today's flop bothered me more than yesterday through because I was pulling hard for the Socceroos...
Sorry John... No more score updates from me...
This just in from the Lieberman campaign...
Statement from Marion Steinfels on the Lieberman Campaign’s reaction to Negative Ned’s Latest Smear Tactics:
“Ned Lamont’s smear tactics hit a new low today with this vicious attack on Sen. Lieberman. Ned’s army of consultants he hired to run his campaign -from former Republican Party Chair, Tom D’Amore to Bill Hillsman- who have spent years working to defeat Democrats, are at it again.”
HERE ARE THE FACTS ON BILL HILLSMAN:
Hillsman worked to defeat Al Gore and Joe Lieberman in 2000.
Hillsman campaigned against Bill Clinton in 1992.
Hillsman tried to defeat Senator Barack Obama by working for a Republican.
Hillsman tried to defeat Tim Kaine in the 2005 Virginia Governor’s race.
Hillsman defeated Democrat Skip Humphrey in Minnesota in 1998.
Hillsman is currently working to defeat Democrats in the Massachusetts Governor’s race.
Hillsman is currently working to defeat Democrats in Texas.
Hillsman campaigned against Democrats in the California recall election for Governor in 2003.
HERE ARE THE FACTS ON JOE LIEBERMAN:
Joe Lieberman has been a scathing critic of the Bush Administration.
Joe Lieberman is the only person in the United States of America who ran against George W. Bush twice, and beat him once.
Lieberman criticized the Bush administration before the war started and after it began.
Lieberman harshly criticized the Bush Administration for being unprepared for the post war situation in Iraq.
Lieberman condemned Bush for Releasing the Name of Valerie Plame.
Joe Lieberman Opposed the 2001 and 2003 Bush Tax Cuts and Opposed Making them permanent.
Joe Lieberman Led the Fight Against the Bush Administration Attempt to Open ANWR to Oil Drilling.
Joe Lieberman Opposes Bush’s Attempts to Pack the Court with Right-Wing Ideologues, including Miguel Estrada and Dennis Shedd.
Joe Lieberman Opposed Bush’s Most Egregious Nominations.
Joe Lieberman OPPOSED the Nomination of Samuel Alito to the US Supreme Court.
Joe Lieberman Opposed the Bush Medicare Drug Debacle, calling it “indefensible”.
I have no idea where to begin.
The funniest part of that is the running against Bush twice and beat him once...any got a link to that one?
LMAO!!!!!!
He ran against him the second time when he was running gainst Dean, kerry, Edwards, etc.....he's a political chameleon and he spins with the rest of him while hiding behind his moral blah, blah, blah...
Lieberman's campaign just gets more bizarre by the day!
Boy do I love Lamont's latest ad though.
the radio ad I like is the one where Lamont says: " I know I am the underdog but I won't roll over..." it sounds like he's going for the cutesy vote..
GC..only someone in the "ozone" would have come out with that piece...lieberman is out to lunch and doesnt get it....
Colin McEnroe talked to Sen. Andrew McDonald and journalist Lisa Siegel about Justice Sullivan's attempt to quash his subpoena. Unfortunately, he got his wish, at least temporarily. He was only subpoenaed because he refused to appear voluntarily.
Where is Chris Murphy on endorsing Ned Lamont? I just saw on Lieberman’s site where Chris is listed under endorsements. However, Murphy’s blog site mentions how he strongly disagrees with Lieberman on the war. This is outrageous. Chris can’t seem to make up his mind. Lamont has the momentum to win this November. How can we get Chris on track?
Farrell disagrees with Joe on the Iraq situation too and eventhough she has said that the most important issue of her campaign against Shays is his position on Iraq, which aligns with Joe's, she backs Joe. We know what Farrell and Murphy are, we just don't know what their price is...
