Lieberman: "Political Convenience, Not Conviction"

CBS News:
(AP) Taking aim at the newcomer, Joe Lieberman on Friday accused presidential rival Wesley Clark of joining the Democratic Party for "political convenience, not conviction" as the retired general came under increased scrutiny.
It's great to see what conviction Sen. Lieberman has. I think it's pretty obvious at this point that the Senator is, and has been, looking out for himself above all else.

In addition, Gen. Clark endorsed (via tparty) Ned Lamont today.

umm...yeah, and how is this relevant to the 2006 U.S. Senate race in Connecticut? Lieberman made that statement in 2003. It's such a huge *HUGE* surprise that Wes Clark endorsed Lamont.

While some of the criticisms against Lieberman have been fair and have promoted good and necessary discussion, the majority have been absolutely pathetic...including this one. Don't you guys have anything better to do? (hint, hint: actually promote your own candidate)

And you guys actually wonder why Lamont has remained stagnant in the latest QPac poll?!?!

Joe was a Democrat until the Party in historic primary results rejected him. Then he whips out "People not Partisanship". What nonsensical, hypocracy from the man who wrote Power Broker.

Who's a "loyal democrat" here isn't really important. But it's interesting to see that Lieberman will say and do contradicting things for his own political gain.

he's been a loyal liberal Dem his whole career!

Huh. To me it's a question about loyalty to the Constitution, but I don't know about Brass Boy. I do know 'loyal liberal' Joe started his pattern of using the senatorial bully pulpit to bash Democrats way back in the Clarence Thomas nomination, which I think was during his first term. So I don't know what career Brass Boy is referring to either.

So Lieberman went after Clark today, lied about Al Sharpton last month....Drudge has a link to something about Lieberman dissing Gore today (but the link doesn't work). Lieberman already double-crossed Kerry in '04, and again in '05.
It would be great if they all got on a plane to Connecticut to express their appreciation for Joe's loyalty and friendship.

"...loyalty to the Constitution"??? What exactly does that mean? His decision to run as an Independent candidate which is totally within in his rights? Or is this some sort of attempt to equate tough interrogation of terrorists with the eroding of our constitution? Huh...

Sorry Jimbo, careers are built on how you vote, not what you say and his career has been filled mostly with votes along the party line...

You Liberals better pray for a miracle Because Ned needs a big one to pull this one off.

Only 39 days to go until the Weakest Link(Lamont)gets to go bye bye.

Will Lamont Lose Deal or No Deal???

"...loyalty to the Constitution"??? What exactly does that mean?

Alberto "Abu Grahib" Gonzalez, Condi "no one could have predicted..." Rice, Samuel "Unitary Executive" Alito, torture, and habeus corpus. All votes from this sad, deluded, arrogant little man. All votes against the Constitution. As are the votes of any one who votes for him in November.
