Just for the record, Jodi Rell is still not running yet. No word as to when an actual announcement will come. Blumenthal hasn't made up his mind yet, either.
I, on the other hand, believe that Courtney's attack on Simmons captures an important part of the political dynamic.
There are those Republicans, like Rove and Delay that exhibit a pattern of deception as part of their continued abuse of power. Those Republicans are destroying this country.
Then, there are those Republicans, like Simmons, who put their head in the sand and pretend that nothing is going on.
As the old saying goes, "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing."
Simmons is doing nothing. More and more people are getting fed up with the deceptions and abuse of power by the extreme right wing as well as getting fed up with good men that do nothing.
Elpie is right, if only because swing voters dont' care about "insider baseball", which is what the whole Rove thing is. Swing voters care about jobs, taxes, and other pocketbook issues....and the sub base is issue #1 in the Second District.
Only people getting worked up about Rove are people who vote Democratic already....
If that ad where Simmons morphs into Bush and back again (run by the otherwise inept Sullivan last year) didn't work, any other attempt to tie him to DeLay probably won't either.

Simmons is no stranger to torture.

I'm not sure that I would characterize Simmon's inability to stand up for what is right as 'insider politics'.
Dave,
Yes, I'll be gathering as many of those stories as I can over the next couple of days. If you (or anyone else) sees any, post them!
About Simmons...

In other news, Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
