New Weekly Polls

I've put two new polls up on the sidebar. The first has to do with political persuasion. The second is about the legislative session, which may seem a little late. However, now that the thing's been over and done with for more than a week, we can think back on the whole session instead of focusing solely on the debate over campaign finance reform. So go ahead and vote, and feel free to defend your answers here if you like.

In other news, I've seen some posts both here and on the DeStefano blog about the appropriation of "www.talkct.com," which happens to be the name of the Malloy blog, by the DeStefano campaign. It's a fair move, but not a particularly civil or nice one. It reminds me of the Google bombing that both sides engaged in during last year's presidential campaign: such as orchestrating links so that whenever someone typed "waffles" into Google, for example, the Kerry for President page popped up. Legit, but not particularly mature.

All the talk about the governor's race over the last few days and no one has mentioned Chris Dodd. Is he staying in the Senate for sure?

it would be a RIDICULOUS political move for Dodd to leave the Senate right now.... especially when Blumenthal hasn't announced his intentions and the primary is already so crowded. the Democrats couldn't handle a primary with both Dodd and Blumenthal, plus John DeStefano and the other candidates already in the race (not to mention Kevin Sullivan, although the major candidates seem to write him off)
