  1. I don't think I've ever been devestated by anything relating to railcars...

  2. While I can't believe we just spent almost $4,000 in under 30 seconds, I am feeling pretty good that we were able to put that advertisement up on the air tonite.

This debate, as the CT Greens hold, is not democracy. It is a scripted contest between a two-headed snake.

Beyond that, did Jodi Rell really run an ad right after us that played the grandmother card? Unreal.

She'll deny us our First Amendment rights, but as long as she holds a baby, all is well in the great Nutmeg state? She is playing us as fools, looking to appeal to emotion over reason.

Can't we have more nuanced discussion of issues in this state than whether or not grandparenting makes one eligible to hold the highest elected office in the state?

  3. "Do you brand yourselves politicians, and are you proud of it?"

A brilliant and incisive question. Hear, hear.

  4. DeStefano NEVER answers a question directly!!! incredible!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. DeStefano: We can do things.

    ReplyDelete
  6. A defense of Lisa Moody: "What she did was not against state law." She looks determined tonight, a very different Rell from last week.

  7. DeStefano: McMansion...

    ReplyDelete
  8. John "Plan is..." DeStefano.

His "plan is" to propose ideas that would never materialize. That plan will lead him right back to the Mayor's office next month. Lost cause Johnny.

  9. Both candidates seem pretty positive so far...

    ReplyDelete
  10. DeStefano: Governor only words, not actions...

    ReplyDelete
  11. DeStefano really does look like Grimace from McDonalds!!

    "McMansion", ha!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Rell: worst mistake is not explaining car tax well enough.

My worst mistake is working too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Rell talks a lot about Moody, and doesn't actually say anything.

    ReplyDelete
  14. How did we get to Rowland from here?

    ReplyDelete
  15. DeStefano: ROWLAND ERA

    ReplyDelete
  16. Universal Health Care = IMPOSSIBLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. DeStefano: "get the train cars moving" on universal healthcare. Get the money by closing coroporate loopholes.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, the Moody issue is not interesting to most people.

Don't point that knuckle at me, sir!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can't beieve Malloy lost to HIM! WOW.

    ReplyDelete
  20. DeStefano: "Rell has raised taxes over and over again".

    ReplyDelete
  21. ECS--glad she's talking about it.

She has a good point about cars across towns.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Rell almost slips and calls DeStefano "gov-"...

    ReplyDelete
  23. DeStefano cannot explain his ideas so they make sense. Why can't anyone on his staff who prepare him properly for these debates?? It's all jibber jabber.

THANKS for explaining the car tax Jodi. Again. At least it makes sense though...

  24. And he isn't disputing that his numbers don't add up. Which they don't.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Tom Monahan's question, which was "do you plan to reduce the size of state government," is essentially the same as asking "Are you really a Republican?"

    ReplyDelete
  26. DeStefano: Rell consistantly stands with "special interests".

    ReplyDelete
  27. Doesnt 50 Cent live in CT? Who's he voting for? Or can he not vote because he is a convicted felon...

    ReplyDelete
  28. What a ridiculous question about reducing the size of state government. We already know Rell's a Republican.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Rell is still stumbling and hesitating every now and again, although she's a lot sharper than she was in New London.

    ReplyDelete
  30. DeStefano has 25 minutes to state his case. Or else it will continue to be lights out for him.

Has he even secured media for the final 2 weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  31. DeStefano: health care and electric utility bills "hidden tax".

    ReplyDelete
  32. Rell: SHAME ON HIM!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. NED!!! NED!!! NED!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. First half: DeStefano did a pretty good job at chronicling Rell's failures. Rell did a pretty good job making it clear that she's the Governor.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, nothing but political ads.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dude!

Actually, good question. Gas in MA is darn cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  37. hahahah classic guitar!!! go Scott!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. DeStefano: "hidden tax"

    ReplyDelete
  39. John knows zero about gas, listen to him !

    ReplyDelete
  40. Zzzz.

    Oh, leave Stamford alone.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Where did we get to Rell not going to Washington from gas being cheaper in Massachusetts?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Destefano: Rell "walked away from conservation programs". Governor "needs to provide leadership".

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rell: "no federal energy policy". I can agree with that!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rell: "we need to add energy to the conservation fund"

    ReplyDelete
  45. Rell: "The Mayor's comments really do come out of my playbook"...

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't know. No one really answered the question. Gas is still cheaper in Springfield.

I'm glad there was a guy from Enfield on. Scott: try Stop&Shop! With the coupon and a S&S card, it's almost as cheap as MA!

    DeStefano: "Scott, move to Arizona."

    ReplyDelete
  47. Bottom Line Scott: Rell by 20 pts.

    ReplyDelete
  48. DeStefano: bottom line, "the jobs not getting done"

    ReplyDelete
  49. DeStefano: "I understand the homeless. It's okay, you can move into my house. Or to greenwich and sleep in the $1.2M car..."

    ReplyDelete
  50. Rell: CT "national role model" for housing.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Here's where Cliff Thornton should be pitching his "free college" idea.

    ReplyDelete
  52. DeStefano is talking about Kindergarten & Pre-K! Reading teachers! Higher ed! That has zero to do with homelessness.

    ReplyDelete
  53. DESTEFA-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !

    ReplyDelete
  54. ...How about librarians? Can we have some money, too?

    ReplyDelete
  55. did someone above seriously mention 50cent? what?

did one of the candidates mention him?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Doesn't 50Cent live in Mike Tyson's old house in Farmington?

    ReplyDelete
  57. He sure does. He should moderate these debates.

    ReplyDelete
  58. "Selling tickets"

Sheesh, should have put something on the drinking game for that.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well Jodi didnt "lose" so in reality, she won. What she needed after last debate.

When do the Lt Gov's debate? I hear Fedele is salivating to rip apart Glassman...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Speaking of Tyson, no knockout punch here. DeStefano harped on Moody too much, and Rell didn't make any mistakes. She was sharper and attacked him a bit more.

And that's it. That's the end.

    ReplyDelete
  61. booorrrrrrrrrring. we learned nothing...

    ReplyDelete
  62. A clear choice: between "can't do that" Rell and "can do" DeStefano.

    ReplyDelete
  63. DeStefano, as ususal, just did not get the job done. He can't sell his ideas because they are too convaluted, and he is so far behind in the polls that his only hope is to bring Rell down. This won't work -- as there is one elected official right now who people believe to be good and on their side, and that is Jodi Rell. And despite all the cyniscism that is out there in the political world, people desperately want to believe that there is someone looking out for them. who is on their side, and the people of CT have decided its Rell. So while all the other campaigns for office are negative (on both sides), playing fast and loose with the facts, and otherwise turning the public off to politics, and politicians, Jodi Rell remains above it all.

So regardless of what you say about her accomplishments, or lack thereof, and her vision and ability to tackle the big issues, she has won in the minds of the public. They love her.

DeStefano doesn't have the money, the personality or the ability to change this fact.
