"WE'RE NOT LEAVING AS LONG AS I'M PRESIDENT"

Joe and Hadassahs announced their daughter will be "studying abroad in Israel" for a couple of years now that shes graduated high school.

Anyone suprised by either of these statements?
These are pretty easy times for people with no Skin in the game.

Debicella signs are up all over Shelton and Stratford...seems a little bit early to me, but they are definitely everywhere you turn.

Jones better get off his butt and do something or this isn't going to even be a race.

Not at all; she'll undoubtedly receive some military training including the proper handling of a fully automatic Uzi.

It takes real guts to move to Israel right now; gotta say I admire the Lieberman's for bringing up a daughter with such backbone and moxie.

I couldn't even finish Lieberman's editorial. Argghhh!

Israel is especially up in arms now with many Israeli's challenging the conduct of Prime Minister Ohlmert in the faltering prosecution of the recent military conflict in Lebanon against Hezbollah..

Despite the rain, Stratford had its
annual Democratic Family Picnic on
Sunday.Blumenthal, Bysiewicz, Nappier
and Wyman were all good to show up.
Newcomers Chris Jones & Dave Mooney
were also there & gave good speeches.

Ohh yes, DeStefano was there too.

lets see if Destefano shows up to The Torrington DTC Picnic on Wednesday since he is as popular as Saddam Hussein in Litchfield County.

I wonder if Ned will be there.

I think Ned Lamont would be better received in Litchfield County than Destefano will be.it all goes back to him stringing Blondin along then putting Slifka on the ticket with him and we saw how well that worked for him. What a joke Destefano is.

These comments and others in recent days sort of confirm what I have heard: the Malloy camp hasn't thrown its support behind JDS; just like Malloy supporter Ammann hasn't backed Lamont.

Jones better stop talking to the base and get out there and meet some voters. Given his performance so far, I doubt this will be a targeted race for us in October. (But maybe I'm wrong...maybe he'll have $100k in the bank on October 1).

Malloy did well in CD4&5. Depending on Diane and Chris... Dan could probably make dems happy by helping Farrell/Murphy with good staff and contacts... all the while ignoring JDS. The staff is key. Organization is essential... and looking at the maps, Malloy must have had good organization in CD5... although he had the name recognition in CD4.

So forget about Destefano... has Malloy been helping Murphy / Farrell? I would think the best he could do would be behind the scenes stuff for Murphy and public stuff for Farrell. He ought to. They can win.

TrueBlueCT said...

Speaking of Malloy, anyone remember what his goal was in New Haven? Wasn't he hoping for 40+ per cent of the vote.

In the end, he got just 30%. I wonder if he regrets all the foolish time he wasted here.

Jones will be alright in the 21st.
He knows many people and networks
well. He will be quite competitive
in the coming weeks. Plus he has a
charisma.

Bluecoat I think many of Malloy's supporters took the defeat pretty hard.

We Malloy supporters are bitter
it is true. I can read DeStefano's body language and he was uneasy at an event I attended. He does not know me
but he was smart enough to remember I
am a Malloy supporter. It gave him the
chills to realize he was not the
smartest person in the room.

CTOctaneBlue said...

It doesn't surprise me at all the former Malloy supporters are not throwing their support to DeStefano. The Democratic campaign for governer has been a nasty affair for over two years. The convention was crazy, and any chance that the two could get along were vaporized with the vote switching. Campaign commercials were down-right mean during the last few weeks before the primary. Anyone remember the one where DeStefano's head was on a woman's body? Wow. Also- no surprise DeStefano is weakest in the 5th CD- many Dems still remember what DeStefano did to Audrey Blondin, and they're not going to let it go until after this election cycle.

One other thing- all the talk shows this morning were discussing the possibility of the Democrats winning both the House and Senate. YESSSSS. Finally there might be some accountability for the war! We need to leave Iraq NOW before anyone else from CT gets killed. So sad.. what a shame! :-(

99.9% of Malloy supporters are backing Destefano fully.Included in that number is Audrey Blondin Herself.I know this because I spent time with her and her wonderful husband the night of the Primary.

There are one or two very Dilusional people here who are still bitter but thats because their entire existence depended on their status here and the candidates they were so sure would win got Beat.

Get over it.

Malloy did have good organization in the 5th, not sure about the 4th. Murphy's campaign is looking good and his staff is strong, especially his campaign manager.
I wouldn't be surprised if they've already been in contact.

CTOB,

No one cares about Audrey Blondin. No one. No one knows who she is. No one cares. Let it go. It wasn’t nasty primary; it wasn’t like 1994. Let it go. That's how life is in the NFL - you are going to lose some and you are going to win some. Let it go. Let’s elect a Democrat Governor.

Charimsa is very nice for Jones...how about showing some money and some presence in the district? Debicella is everywhere already, and outraised him 2-to-1 last quarter.

If Jones can't tie Debicella in fundraising by October 1, he's all done. No doubt the Senate R's are putting their money into keeping the seats they already have (like Debicella for Gunther's seat and Winkler for Cook's seat), so unless Jones can tie him in fundraising he won't stand a chance in this Republican-leaning district.

I know who Audrey Blondin is. In fact, I've met her once or twice and found her to be perfectly nice person. However, anyone who traces any problems the DeStefano campaign might encounter back to the way Audrey Blondin was treated is seriously delusional.

So what do you envision happening in Iraq if we just picked up and left? Do you care? Do you think that the country would engage in a civil war? Do you think that someone who was fiercely anti-American would get in charge? Do you think this would be a good thing? Do you think the US would look like quite weak to the rest of the world?

Looking at the maps, most of CD5 stayed the same in the local elections last year. Cheshire is an exception. Dems took over Cheshire last year... bigtime if memory serves me.

Did Malloy have any staff from the Dem takeover last year? If so, Murphy ought to get them. They're probably pretty damn good. Isn't Cheshire supposed to be a Republican town?

Murphy lives in Cheshire, but don't know if he really knows the local dems. Didn't he just move there recently so he could run for Congress?

Anonymous said...

Cheshire went Dem because the local R's insisted on a $1M extension of the linear park their own supporters thought was a waste of money.

Hard to see how Murphy taps into that sort of sentiment with his mood ring campaign

Chris Jones has Charisma???

Ya gotta be kidding.

The guy plans to lose. Just ask him.

Dear ctoctaneblue,

Please understand this one very important political fact: nobody knows who the heck Audrey Blondin is! Get over it, or seek professional help.

Dibicella came to my door. He
seemes as fake as a $3 bill.

Dear Anon. 12:45 - He did? When? What street?

Looks like a post from the Jones camp to me. Dan is a great guy and he is going to win easily.

By the way, everyone reading can tell that Anon. 2:21, 6:19 & 12:45 are the same person (just check out the text & paragraphing).

Maybe you should spend more time campaigning for Chris Jones (or perhaps you are Chris Jones), then you are spending on this website.

Good luck!

It honestly appears to me Dibicella backers are the ones on their keyboards 24/7; just waiting to respond to everything and anything and
even now analyzing posts. How bizarre.
