Three cheers for the British police!

Joe Lieberman is becoming the de facto Republican candidate in this race, as GOP leaders and candidates have nothing but praise (and endorsements) for him, while Democrats urge him to drop out. Think Jodi Rell will campaign for him?

One sealed ballot is the key to an election in Groton.

I'm working on the Senate primary map. Yes, I saw the one in the Courant this morning.

What else is happening this morning?

Shorter Cheney:

Connecticut Democrats Heart the Terrorists:

Mr. Cheney offered warm praise for Mr. Lieberman, who was his opponent for vice president in 2000, though he said he did not want his remarks to be construed as an endorsement of Mr. Lieberman.

He cast Mr. Lieberman’s loss in ominous terms, suggesting that it would hearten American terrorist enemies. Terrorists, he said, are “betting on the proposition that ultimately they can break the will of the American people in terms of our ability to stay in the fight and complete the task.

Hope Scotland Yard didn;t use those awful wiretaps, then Neddy ain't cheering

"Gitmo, wiretaps, & Haditha have weakened our moral authority. (Jul 2006)
Don't compromise Constitution for war on terror. (May 2006)
Stand up to wiretap intrusions into our private lives. (Mar 2006) "

For the record, wiretaps are an extremely useful tool. Warrentless wiretaps are something else.

The highest responsibility of Govt is protecting its citizens from attack by enemies, both foreign and domestic. The methods to achieve this goal must be effective, and wiretaps etal are not only effective they are absolutely necessary to defeat Islamofascism.

It is a good thing for DeStefano that Mary Glassman got on his ticket. She brings a lot to the table - winning as first selectperson in Simsbury - not a leftie hotbed like New Haven. She is smart and attractive. If he has any shot of winning he needs to use her and incorporate much of the Malloy message. DeStefano ran on a traditional working families theme and barely won and his LG candidate got creamed. Looking at the Gov. Statewide primary map, DeStefano won mostly the traditional Democratic towns, he much quickly broaden his appeal to unaffiliated and more moderate Democrats.

Are any "good government" people upset that a criminal such as Jesse Jackson was standing right behind Ned Lamont the other night? Or is this something else you all want to ignore? I mena c'mon the list goes on and on!!!

9-11 was an inside job, according to Howard Dean.

Missles raining down on Israel from Iran and Syria supported Hezbollah is one thing, but this is getting a little close to home. Isn't New York across the border or something? And now the media is announcing that precautions have been taken at Bradley Field which, I believe, is in Connecticut somewhere.

I'm still unclear on how FISA (essentially secret warrant for wiretapping) doesn't handle the things that the Administration wants to use warrantless wiretaps for?

And FISA, iirc, was developed in response to the need for secret wiretaps while making sure such methods were not abused.

Why would Lamont supporters want two racists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on the stage? Why get in bed with those two despicable people?

I also hear that Bush shot Kennedy, commanded the Japanese at Pearl Harbor, and is the great great great grandson of Lord Cornwallis.

DeStefano cant win The Governorship without Litchfield County's support. I think DeStefano needs to literally kiss a lot of Democratic Leaders butt or his Candidacy for Governor is doomed.

Note to DeStefano: Dont bring Fred Flintstone oops Kevin Sullivan with you Because Sullivan isnt popular in Litchfield County Yabba Dabba Doo!!!!!!
