Lamont and Edwards Event Video

My very first attempts at video. These were taken with my digital camera which I had trouble holding steady. I feel like I got good pieces of their speeches though. Enjoy.

Ned Lamont speaks to the crowd.

First John Edwards video.

Second John Edwards video.

Brassboy...im on guard about that and no soup for me.....isnt Waterbury the intersection where steak meets salad at Drescher's?

If this blog is going to be hijacked by photos and videos every time Lamont has a rally, then we really have lost any sort of balance here.

Didn't see any video clips of Clinton for Joe posted here.

Nor did I see anything from when McCain came for Jodi.

Bruce, I would avoid using the phrase "Paul Vance is paying me off.." in Waterbury it's a badge of honor, everywhere else it's considered a bad thing. Then again, Waterbury is the place where the forces of slime meet the forces of evil, right Swanny?

Personally I think links to the youtube would be more acceptable. It seems a little over the top.

This site is spending far too much time on the US Senate race and lately seems to be an extentsion of the Lamont Campaign. Governors race, CT House and Senate races going on and not a lot of discussion or debate.

Sure the US Senate deals with extremely important issues that affect the quality of life in this country but IMHO the Gov and CT Gen Assy have a much greater impact on quality of life issues here in CT. All things Lamont is just boring...

Did anyone take videos of these other events? If they did, were they prevented from uploading them here?

I think videos and pics are great, even if I don't support the candidate. Also, it may make great opposition research if something silly is said. George Allen learned this the hard way...

BR, that's one thing that everyone can agree on about Waterbury... our politics is tough and frequently bitter, but our restaurants are some of the best!

p.s. I must say, it's a lot different not having the usual left vs. right sparring match, but I guess good food (or the disucssion of it) can have that effect!

Anon 11:02... it is not necessarily a badge of honor for all of us...

it all depends on the size of the payoff... (kidding!)

There might have been some video of Clinton & Joe posted if they had allowed cameras in...but they didnt...

Maybe the Lamont candidacy is one of the most important changes in the American political scene since Richard Nixon resigned uder the shame of the Watergate scandal.

Even if Lamont loses (I said as I am biting my tongue), all of us have won. Finally, 9/11 and Iraq are being discussed by everyone in America. This is a far cry from when even TRYING to discuss the possibility that maybe Iraq was a bad idea would result in accusations of being unpatriotic and un-American.

Thank you, Ned, for speaking about the unspeakable, and making all of this about rational choices.

Yes, Ned must be very rational in order to have the support of Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Lowell Weicker and Jesse Jackson. They are all known to be quite rational and level headed...

CGG,

Great job!

To the whiners:

I'm sure no one is stopping the conservatives on this site from videotaping any Johnson, Simmons, Rell, Shays event. Coming from someone who knows how hard it is to videotape and produce this stuff, if you have a problem with the content, why don't you step up to the plate and videotape stuff yourselves.

I encourage all the posters on this site (except for turfgrrl) to go out there and videotape as many candidates as possible. You'll find that you'll gain more access to the candidates by placing video content on the site. Think about it, do you think the bloggers would have had access to Edwards if not for the contribution blogs like CTBlog, CTBob, and MLN did in terms of providing video content to their sites?

Trust me, Rell, Johnson, Shays, and the other Republicans would love nothing better than to have someone come out and video tape their events and upload them on the web.

The readers who are whining should be ashamed of themselves as covering an event takes a great deal of free time and money. You should appreciate what people like myself and others who followed my lead are doing in terms of providing multimedia content online. You guys just read this stuff, we have to go out there and report on the story (and we don't get paid).

One recommendation: CGG, you might find it easier to use Flickr for your photographs. After a while, photos take up too much space on a blog and gets in the way. Nothing is more harsh than scrolling past a long series of photos. I'm not saying that you have too many pics on the site, just that it's easaier to provide a link to anohter site where people can view all of your stuff.

Thanks CTBlogger. I used Photobuckey on Primary night, but wanted to experiement with blogger as well. Never again. I have almost no control over format with blogger. I haven't tried flickr yet. Maybe next time.

Yeah, blogger is harsh. I'll email you a little trick I use to control the size of the images.

Welcome to the wacky world of multimedia on blogger...

Heh,

Thats why they're Republicans and Conservative.Change or anything new scares the hell out of them.

The only reason wars don't is because they never have skin in the game.
