Dick Morris: Lieberman Will Lose

Political Wire has a quick quote from Dick Morris about Lieberman's chances:
"I think Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) will lose the primary and will be so crippled by the defeat and Ned Lamont (D) so empowered, that he will lose the general election as an independent. Sen. Jacob Javits (R-NY), in 1980, could have avoided defeat by not fighting the Republican Primary against Sen. Al D'Amato (R-NY) and running as an independent. But D'Amato was so empowered by the primary win and Javits so disempowered that he won the general election with Javits running a poor third.

"Lieberman's correct course of action is to withdraw from the primary and run as an independent. It is the only way he can get re-elected."

How similar are these two races? I'll have to look into it.

Patricia Rice=out of touch.

Lieberman is mad as hell right now and he has only himself to blame as he has run one of the worse campaigns in history.

Lieberman's hubris and his not taking Lamont seriously is clearly why Joe is going to lose the primary (and lose real bad).

CT Democrats are NOT mad because they want Joe to disagree with BUsh on every single issue. Democrats are angey at Lieberman because he does not work within the party for the good of the party.

MOST Democrats agree that Lieberman does not work for the good of the Democratic Party and this is the ONLY reason he's in a primary.

Are you realated to Turfgrrl?

Well, if Dick Morris predicting that Lieberman will lose, I bet Lamont is pretty sad, based on the track record of previous predictions by Dick Morris.

He said that Kerry had little chance to defeat Howard Dean in the primary; that Jeanine Pirro would put up a fierce challenge to Hillary in the 2006 Senate Race; in 2000 he said Hillary wouildn't run for Senate...
