Rumors...

Yes, there will be a press conference with Senate President Don Williams and John DeStefano this afternoon at 3:30 in the LOB.

I have no idea what it's about--the advisory just says "Two days before Democratic convention, DeStefano and Williams to make campaign announcement," (the DeStefano campaign likes to mess with us). My gut tells me it's just an endorsement, but we'll see.

DeStefano/Williams, if true, might be enough to swing the convention DeStefano's way. An endorsement probably won't.

KerryGuy: I have no idea.

Really. It boggles the mind.

Yeah, it's just an endorsement. There's no way Williams would accept the Lt. Gov. job.

That's what I figure, DG. He has way too much to lose.

This isn't the first time the DeStefano campaign has done this. There was a press conference with Kevin Sullivan a while ago that people thought was the real thing--which also turned out to be an endorsement.

He's like the boy who cried "lieutenant governor."

I just listened to the press conference.

Williams endorsed Destefano.

When asked who will be his running mate, Destefano replied, "You'll know by Saturday at noon."

Sigh. Punked again.
