Rell Raises $900K in First Quarter

The first of the first quarter numbers are trickling in... we should know a lot more about where everyone stands on Monday. In the meantime, Gov. Rell slightly outdid herself by raising about $900,000 this quarter.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell's campaign has amassed more than $1.4 million in cash, her campaign manager told the Associated Press Saturday.

Rell, a Republican, raised a little more than $900,000 last quarter between cash, in-kind services, and interest from accounts, according to campaign manager Kevin Deneen. Rell raised $873,000 the previous quarter.
...
Rell is not accepting contributions from lobbyists, state contractors, or political action committees. She received donations from more than 2,300 individuals. More than 46 percent contributed $100 or less.(Haigh)
On the one hand, this is good for the governor. Rell's fundraising is steady despite a few ethical problems, most notably the Moody scandal. She is also significantly outraising her Democratic opponents, although she doesn't have nearly as much cash on hand as they do yet.

On the other hand, her numbers aren't going up very much, and she actually had a slightly longer period of time to raise money (she announced in mid-October, part way into the last quarter of 2005). In short, this is a good number for the Rell campaign, but not a great one.

ctobserver: Something to contemplate: DeStefano's favorability is 50% greater than his unfavorability. Malloy's favorability is equal to his unfavorability. The link you provided for Delay is broken, so I went and searched around and most of the data I found for Delay's ratings were fairly old, but even with that, his favorability was only half of his unfavorability.

The real point is that both Malloy and DeStefano aren't high in name recognition. Delay is high in name recognition and it hurts him.

As an aside, I suspect that if Quinnipiac did a poll on your favorability ratings we would find that it is much less than Malloy, DeStefano or Delay because your name (I suspect) hasn't been in the news as much as any of them.
